Samsung TV remote app for iPhone

Yes. Simple TV Remote works with Samsung TVs that run Samsung Tizen. The platform depends on the model and the country, so check your exact model number. The free check in the app confirms it on your TV before you pay $5.99, once.

Press the Controller button on the TV. Samsung says it's at the bottom center or bottom right of the screen on many models, and its shape and position vary by model. Once the TV is on, press it once to open a small menu for power, volume, channel and source.

Yes, from standby, once Power On with Mobile is on. On 2022–2024 TVs it's in Settings > All Settings > Connection > Network > Expert Settings > Power On with Mobile; on 2025 and later TVs the menu says Connections instead of Connection. It can't turn on a TV that was unplugged or lost power.

Stand within 1 foot of the TV, point the remote at it, and hold Return and Play/Pause together for at least 5 seconds. Let go when the TV says the remote is connected. If it won't pair, unplug the TV for 30 seconds, plug it back in, and try again.

For a remote with batteries, take the batteries out, hold the Power button for 8 seconds, then put them back. For a SolarCell remote (2021 and later TVs), hold Return and Enter (the center of the navigation pad) for 10 seconds. Then pair it again with Return and Play/Pause.

Start with fresh batteries, or charge a SolarCell remote with a USB-C cable, then unplug the TV for 30 seconds. If only some buttons work, the remote has probably lost its pairing, so pair it again. Our Samsung remote guide at /tv-remote-not-working/samsung/ goes through every step, and your iPhone can stand in while you fix it.

Not with a phone app. SmartThings, Simple TV Remote and every other phone remote need the TV to be on your Wi-Fi already. If your TV has never been connected, use a replacement Samsung remote or a universal remote to finish network setup, then your iPhone can take over.

Samsung smart TVs from 2016 on, including Crystal UHD, QLED, Neo QLED, OLED and The Frame. Samsung smart TVs from 2015 and earlier aren't on our list yet. The free check in the app pairs with your TV and shows what works before you pay.

Look at the label on the back of the TV, next to the serial number. On the TV, open Settings > Support > About This TV on 2022–2024 models, or Settings > Support > About TV on 2021 and 2025 or later models. The year letter in the code tells you the model year, for example C for 2023 and D for 2024.

Yes. Your iPhone and the TV must be on the same home network, by Wi-Fi or with the TV on the same router by cable. Guest networks often stop devices from seeing each other. The remote works over your own network, not the internet, so nothing goes to the cloud.

Look at the home screen or the settings menu, which name the platform. Or type your model number into the checker on this page.

Find the year letter in the model code. K is 2016, M 2017, N 2018, R 2019, T 2020, A 2021, B 2022, C 2023, D 2024, F 2025 and H 2026. On QLED, Neo QLED and OLED codes it's the last letter of the series (QN65Q80C is 2023). On older Crystal UHD codes it comes after the size (UN55CU8000 is 2023).
