Can my iPhone turn on my Philips TV?
On Philips Google TV and Android TV sets, yes from standby, once Switch On with Wi-Fi (WoWLAN) is on. On recent UK and European Google TV sets it's in Settings > Network & Internet; on US Google TV sets look for Settings > Network & Internet > WiFi Configs > Wake On Network. It can't turn on a TV that's unplugged.
How do I pair a remote with a Philips Google TV?
Put the remote in pairing mode using the steps in your TV's manual, then go to Settings > Remotes & Accessories > Pair remote or accessory and pick it from the list. If pairing keeps failing, unplug the TV for 10 seconds and try again.
How do I pair a remote with a Philips Roku TV?
Simple Roku remotes use infrared and don't need pairing. For a Roku voice remote, unplug the TV for at least 5 seconds, plug it back in, and when the Home screen appears hold the pairing button for 5 seconds until the light flashes. If the remote has no pairing button, hold Back and Home for 5 seconds.
Can I connect my Philips TV to Wi-Fi without the remote?
Not with a phone app. Every phone remote needs the TV on your Wi-Fi first, so use a replacement remote to finish network setup. After that, your iPhone can take over.
Where is the model number on my Philips TV?
Look for the type label on the back or bottom of the TV, or on the box. On UK and European Android TV and Titan OS sets, open Quick Menu > Help > TV information. On Google TV and US Roku TV sets, open Settings > System > About.
Will my 2026 Philips TV work with Simple TV Remote?
In the UK and Europe, not yet: TP Vision says every 2026 Philips TV there runs Titan OS, which isn't on our list yet. In the US, Philips Roku TV and Google TV models work. The free check in the app tells you for sure.
Do I need Wi-Fi to use my iPhone as a Philips remote?
Yes. Your iPhone and the TV must be on the same home network. Guest networks and routers that keep devices apart can stop the app from finding the TV.

/12 is the region code Philips uses for UK and EU models. US models end in /F7.

About Philips smart TVs
Philips TVs are made under license. In the UK and Europe, TP Vision designs and sells Philips TVs, with model codes ending in /12. In the US, Philips TVs have codes ending in /F7 and are a separate product line; recent Philips US manuals name Skyworth USA Corporation, and older ones name Funai.
In the UK and Europe, Philips used Android TV on its mid-range and premium sets from late 2015 to 2022 and Google TV from 2023. Cheaper sets used Philips' own Linux-based Saphi from 2018 to 2022. From 2024 most LED ranges moved to Titan OS, and TP Vision says every 2026 Philips TV runs Titan OS.
In the US, Philips sells Roku TVs (since 2017) and Google TV sets (since 2022). It also sold Android TVs from 2018 to 2022.
