Turn these on once with your TV remote. Menu names can differ slightly by year and region.

  1. Put your iPhone and TV on the same network

  3. If you chose Deny, allow your iPhone in Device Connect Manager

    2021 models

Set your iPhone to Allow, or delete it so the TV asks again. Access Notification on the same screen controls whether the TV shows the prompt.

Year letter (all markets)

JKMNRTABCDFH
  • J2015 (Tizen 2.3)
  • K2016 (Tizen 2.4)
  • M2017 (Tizen 3.0)
  • N2018 (Tizen 4.0)
  • R2019 (Tizen 5.0)
  • T2020 (Tizen 5.5)
  • A2021 (Tizen 6.0)
  • B2022 (Tizen 6.5)
  • C2023 (Tizen 7.0)
  • D2024 (Tizen 8.0)
  • F2025 (Tizen 9.0)
  • H2026 (Tizen 10.0)

Samsung skips some letters. 2017 and 2018 QLED codes put the year in a different place (Q7F, Q9FN): there, F and FN are part of the series name, not 2025. Older 2012–2014 sets used E, F and H right after the screen size (UN46H6203); those run Samsung's Legacy Platform.

US QLED, Neo QLED, OLED and The Frame (2019 and later)

QN65QN90D
  • QNUS prefix for QLED, Neo QLED, OLED and The Frame
  • 65Screen size in inches
  • QN90Series. QN is Neo QLED, Q is QLED (Q80), S is OLED (S90), LS03 is The Frame
  • DYear letter: D is 2024

The full US code adds a factory suffix such as AFXZA (QN65QN90DAFXZA). The suffix can be ignored when checking compatibility. The Frame used the UN prefix in 2017 and 2018 (UN55LS003, UN55LS03N).

US Crystal UHD and UHD (2016–2024)

UN55CU8000
  • UNUS prefix for LED TVs (UHD and Crystal UHD)
  • 55Screen size in inches
  • CYear letter: C is 2023 (K 2016, M 2017, N 2018, R 2019, T 2020, A 2021, B 2022, D 2024)
  • UUHD (4K). 2016 premium sets use S (KS8000) for SUHD
  • 8000Series

From 2025, Samsung's series names put the year letter at the end, as on QLED codes (U8000F is the 2025 version of the 8000 series).

UK QLED, Neo QLED, OLED and The Frame

QE65Q80CATXXU
  • QEEuropean prefix for QLED, Neo QLED, OLED and The Frame
  • 65Screen size in inches
  • Q80CSeries and year letter (C is 2023)
  • ATVariant letters. These change by series and year (for example QE55Q7FAMTXXU in 2017, QE55LS03TAUXXU for a 2020 Frame)
  • XXUUK stock. Other European countries use different endings

Type the full code from the label when you check a UK TV. The part before the variant letters is usually the same as in the rest of Europe.

UK Crystal UHD and UHD

UE55CU8000KXXU
  • UEEuropean prefix for LED TVs (UHD and Crystal UHD)
  • 55Screen size in inches
  • CYear letter: C is 2023
  • U8000UHD series
  • KVariant letter
  • XXUUK stock

2016 UK codes follow the same idea with a different suffix, for example UE55KS7000UXXU.

Troubleshooting

Most problems come from the network or one TV setting. Start at the top.

The TV never shows the Allow prompt
  1. Check that your iPhone and the TV are on the same Wi-Fi network, not a guest network.
  2. Open Device Connect Manager and make sure Access Notification is not turned off. 2021: Settings > General > External Device Manager. 2022–2024: Settings > All Settings > Connection > External Device Manager. 2025 and later: Settings > All Settings > Connections.
  3. If your iPhone is in the Device List as Denied, set it to Allow or delete it, then connect again.
The app can't turn the TV on
  1. Turn on Power On with Mobile in the network Expert Settings (see the setup steps for your year).
  2. Turn the TV off with the remote, not at the wall. A TV that was unplugged can't be woken over the network.
  3. If it still doesn't wake, turn the TV on with the remote. The rest of the controls will still work once it's on.
The TV never shows the Allow prompt
  1. Check that your iPhone and the TV are on the same Wi-Fi network, not a guest network.
  2. Open Device Connect Manager on the TV and check that Access Notification is not turned off. The path depends on the year: Settings > General > External Device Manager (2021), Settings > All Settings > Connection > External Device Manager (2022–2024), or Settings > All Settings > Connections (2025 and later).
  3. Look in the Device List. If your iPhone is listed as Denied, change it to Allow or delete it, then connect again.
The app can't turn the TV on
  1. Turn on Power On with Mobile in the network Expert Settings. 2017–2021: Settings > General > Network > Expert Settings. 2022 and later: Settings > All Settings > Connection (or Connections) > Network > Expert Settings.
  2. Turn the TV off with the remote, not at the wall. A TV that has been unplugged or switched off at the wall can't be woken over the network.
  3. Keep the TV on the same network as your iPhone. Some routers stop passing wake-up traffic to devices in standby after a while.
The TV turns itself on
  1. Samsung's support pages say network devices can turn the TV on when Power On with Mobile is on. If you don't need to wake the TV from your phone, turn Power On with Mobile off.

Questions

Is there a Samsung Serif, Sero and Terrace TV remote app for iPhone?

Yes. Simple TV Remote is a Samsung Serif, Sero and Terrace TV remote app for iPhone that works with Samsung Serif, Sero and Terrace TVs running Samsung Tizen. It pairs over your home Wi-Fi and sends real commands in a free check, so you know it works on your exact TV before you pay $5.99, once.

Can my iPhone turn on a Samsung Serif, Sero and Terrace TV?

Yes, from standby. Turn on Power On with Mobile. 2017–2021: Settings > General > Network > Expert Settings > Power On with Mobile; 2022–2024: Settings > All Settings > Connection > Network > Expert Settings > Power On with Mobile. Works from standby only, not after the TV has been unplugged. No app can turn on a TV that is unplugged.

Is The Terrace controlled differently?

It runs Tizen like Samsung's other TVs, so the setup is the same. It still needs to be on the same network as your iPhone.

Can my iPhone turn the TV on?

Only from standby and only with Power On with Mobile turned on in the network Expert Settings.

Can I type into apps from my iPhone?

We don't know yet. Text input is marked unknown for Samsung TVs until we've tested it.

Which Samsung Serif, Sero and Terrace models work with Simple TV Remote?

Samsung Serif, Sero and Terrace TVs from 2019–2024 work, including the LS01R, LS01T, LS05T, LST7T, LST9T, LS01B, LS05B, LS01D series sold in United Kingdom and Europe. Search for your exact model code in the table on this page.

How do I connect my iPhone to a Samsung Serif, Sero and Terrace TV?

Put your iPhone and TV on the same Wi-Fi, open Simple TV Remote and pick your TV. Accept the prompt on the TV with your TV remote once, and the app remembers it.

Where is the model number on a Samsung TV?

Open Settings > Support > About TV. Shows the model code and the software version. It’s also on the label on the back of the TV.

Why can’t the app find my Samsung TV?

Make sure the TV is on and on the same Wi-Fi as your iPhone, not a guest network, and turn off any VPN on your iPhone. If it still doesn’t show up, restart the TV and your router, then check Settings > Privacy & Security > Local Network on your iPhone.

Do I need an IR blaster or extra hardware?

No. Simple TV Remote talks to your TV over your home Wi-Fi. iPhones have no infrared, so TVs without a network connection can’t be controlled.

About these TVs

Samsung's lifestyle range includes The Serif (LS01), The Sero (LS05) and The Terrace (LST7 and LST9). Samsung's 2023 e-Manual lists a Cold Weather Mode that only The Terrace supports. The Frame has its own page.

They run the same Tizen software as Samsung's QLED TVs from the same year, so the menus are the same.

The year letter follows the series name, for example LS01T for a 2020 Serif.
