Press Home on the Sky Q remote, then select Settings and System info. The screen shows the hardware version (for example 32B0xx) and the software build.
Check the label on the back of the box
The model code (for example ES240 or EM150) is printed on the back of the box. Sky Community users report it sits near the HDMI port.

How do I use my phone as a Sky Q remote?
Put your iPhone on the same Wi-Fi as the Sky Q box, open Simple TV Remote and tap the box in the list. There's no code to type. If the box doesn't show up, type its IP address from the box's Settings > Status menu.
Can I change the volume on Sky from my phone?
Not on a Sky Q box with Simple TV Remote. The box has no volume control over the network, so use your TV remote for volume. The physical Sky Q remote can change your TV's volume once it's set up for your TV with 1 and 3.
Why is my Sky remote not working?
Press ? on the remote and watch the light at the top. If it doesn't flash, put in fresh batteries, then reset the remote by holding 7 and 9 and pair it again with 1 and 3. If it flashes but the box doesn't respond, press Standby on the front of the box, then restart the box at the mains.
How do I find a lost Sky Q remote?
Press the Q button on the front of your Sky Q box. After a few seconds the paired Sky Q remote beeps for 30 seconds; press any button on it to stop. This works from the main box, not from a Sky Q Mini.
How do I connect my Sky Q remote to my TV?
Hold 1 and 3 together, select Continue, enter your TV's brand, then select Find it for me and pick your TV. Press the volume buttons to test, and select No, try another if the TV's volume doesn't change.
Can my iPhone turn my Sky Q box on?
Yes, from standby, once the box's Standby mode is set to Active or None. Press Home, then go to Settings > Setup > Preferences > Standby mode. Nothing can turn the box on once it's unplugged.
How do I know which platform my Sky TV runs?
Look at the home screen or the settings menu, which name the platform. Or type your model number into the checker on this page.
Does this cover Sky Glass or Sky Stream?
Sky Glass and Sky Stream run different software from Sky Q, and Sky has a separate Sky Remote app for them.

Sky is a pay-TV provider in the UK and Ireland. Sky Q, its satellite TV box, went on sale on 9 February 2016 in both countries, with a main box and a smaller Sky Q Mini for other rooms.
Sky loans Sky Q boxes to customers; they stay Sky's property. Sky doesn't publish who builds them, and its help pages identify boxes by hardware version (for example 32B0xx) rather than by the model code on the label.
Sky's own phone remote for Sky Q is part of the Sky Go app. It works when the phone and the Sky Q box are on the same Wi-Fi network.
