Troubleshooting
Most problems come from the network or one TV setting. Start at the top.
The app can't find the TV
- Put your iPhone and the TV on the same Wi-Fi network, not a guest network.
- On 2014–2018 sets, turn on Settings > All Settings > Network > LG Connect Apps.
- Turn the TV off and on with its remote and try again.
The app can't turn the TV on
- Turn on Turn on via Wi-Fi using the path for your TV's year above.

- On 2014–2018 sets, turn on Settings > All Settings > Network > LG Connect Apps.

I missed or declined the pairing prompt

The app can't turn the TV on

Questions
Is there a LG OLED TV remote app for iPhone?

How do I pair the Magic Remote with my LG OLED?

Why does my LG OLED Magic Remote light up but do nothing?

Where is the power button on an LG OLED?
LG says it's usually under the LG logo on the front edge, or on the back, depending on the model. Press it once to turn the TV on. On a joystick-style button, press and hold to turn off and push left or right for volume.
Which LG OLED TVs work with Simple TV Remote?
LG OLEDs from 2016 onward work, because they all run webOS. The digit after the series letter is the year: C9 is 2019, CX 2020, C1 2021 and so on up to C5 for 2025. B, C, G and the other series all set up the same way.

Will another LG remote work with my TV?

Can I use the LG ThinQ app instead?
Yes. LG's own ThinQ app has Magic Remote-style controls once you sign in with an LG account, tap Add a Device, choose TV and pick your set. Simple TV Remote is the no-account option: same Wi-Fi, accept the prompt on the TV once, and you're done.

About these TVs
LG OLED TVs run webOS. LG names each OLED series with a letter and a year digit: C3 is the 2023 C series and C4 is the 2024 one. Before 2021, X stood for 2020 (CX, GX), and 2016–2019 used 6 to 9.
B and C OLEDs come out every year. Other series, such as G, M, W, Z, E, A and R, appear in some years. The 88-inch Z models are 8K.
US and UK codes differ after the series: OLED65C3PUA is the US code and OLED65C34LA the UK code for the same 65-inch 2023 C3.
2022 OLED TVs are in LG's webOS Re:New program and can upgrade to newer webOS versions. A TV that has been upgraded uses the newer menus.
